CoCo's
current research is centered on the idea of individual physical practice of movement
material specific to a particular project and how that repetition is related to
choreographic choices and conceptual development and refinement.
The study and practice of these ideas began during her graduate studies at The Ohio State University but have stayed relevant and integral to her dance making ever since.
Below are several pieces of documentation from her MFA research. They help to elucidate the core notions of CoCo's ideas of "practice" and "repetition" and "translation".
Over the years, these fundamental theories have morphed, transformed, run away on wild tangents and come full circle, but they still play a very important role in the way that she communicates with herself and the emerging work in each new project.
